PROSTHETIC DENTISTRY
Aging with a beautiful smile
We work passionately toward creating the most youthful smiles for patients whose natural teeth require replacement.
If the years have not been kind to your teeth or your smile, we have many ways to replace and restore those missing or unsightly teeth; returning the smile to your face, the confidence and clarity to your speech and the ability to chew and enjoy the foods you love.
CROWN & ONLAYS
These types of restorations are the longest lasting and most supportive way to restore a tooth that is decayed or fractured. Onlays are a more conservative type of restoration, with only the decayed or fractured portion of the tooth removed. The onlay is then put in place to cover, restore and protect this area. Crowns are usually recommended for a more severely decayed or fractured tooth that needs a considerable amount of support to restore its ability to function.
HOW WE CAN HELP
These types of restorations usually require more than one appointment. At the initial appointment the patient will be made comfortable with anesthetic, and the affected tooth will be prepared, with the decay and fractures removed. An impression is taken and sent to our dental lab where the crown/onlay is fabricated. Once the impressions are completed the tooth will have a temporary restoration placed to protect the tooth. At the patient’s second appointment the temporary restoration will be comfortably removed and the permanent crown/onlay will be fitted and cemented in place.
IMPLANTS & IMPLANT CROWNS
When a tooth is lost or missing, leaving that space can allow remaining teeth to drift or shift creating issues with the bite, spacing of the teeth or cosmetic issues.
HOW WE CAN HELP
Implants are an ideal option to replace missing teeth. The procedure begins with either a titanium or zirconium oxide “root” being placed surgically by our recommended specialist. After a period of healing, we then restore the implant “root’ with a crown that feels and looks like a natural tooth.
DENTURES & PARTIAL DENTURES
Dentures or partial dentures are removable appliances that are sometimes used to replace missing teeth when implants are not an option. They can give a patient back their smile, confidence, and their ability to chew.
HOW WE CAN HELP
Dentures or partial dentures are made in coordination with our dental laboratories and can require numerous appointments to obtain a natural looking and comfortable fit.
